I couldn't wait to get out on my new bike so as soon as it looked a little drier I headed off to Pendam for a stab at the northern loop of the Syffydrin Trail. As I got closer to the hills it was evident that it wasn't as dry there as it was on the coast and I set off in the pouring rain.

Having not been on a bike from around 12 years and probably about 15 years since I rode one in anger I wasn't expecting to be too good on it, and sure enough i was a little hesitant over the technical stuff and slower uphill than I should have been... I don't remember having to use the small chain ring quite so much.

All in all a good route and a good couple of hours on the bike. I did manage to get around without getting off which was a good start!

All in all it was 21 km which took me about 1hr 50.. Hopefully as I get fitter and more confident with the bike that will improve.
